2009 International Convention

There are way too many stories to tell about the international. But here are a few pictures.

Some of her outfits. She exploded every morning deeming a wardrobe change though. It was running down her legs and getting on peoples clothes.

The sister gave me that umbrella after. Score!

These delegates from Denmark were sitting behind us taking pictures and fawning over Milla. Don't know who the asian lady is but I'm willing to bet she's a sister.

Random chicks in kimonos.

Random German sisters. Wish I had a picture of what the brothers wore.

Milla is going to be a water baby!

She loves her baths! She just smiles and coos up a storm when you first put her in. She's even screamed a few times when we took her out. She's really starting to show some personality and smile and coo. It's adorable.

The first time she touched sand. I don't think she was that impressed, but I'm sure she'll grow to love it. Maybe it's a lack of choice.

I forgot to turn this picture. My aunt and uncle came over to see her and this is how she repays her. It was all over her, my aunt and the couch.

Random Milla Pictures

Thought I'd upload some random pictures from the camera.

Josiah keeping the sun out of her eyes while we walked out to the car to eat at the assembly. Josiah trying to take his jacket off while holding her without help. Yup, he's stuck. Oh, and begging me not to take this picture. Did I accidentally upload this and explain it.....oops.
Milla's first assembly. Need to lose that baby weight and learn not to smile like that. But that dress of hers is adorable.

She fell asleep on the couch like this.

She always looks so pensive. Or mad, can't figure it out.

Milla Kalailani Eirhart

We took Milla to a private beach at a friends house on the 27th and shot these pictures. The log that she is on has been in my family to almost 50 years. My grandfather found it on Wake Island when he was stationed there when my mom was really little. He found it buried in the sand on the beach and hooked a truck up to it, dragged it home, and shipped it all over the place since. It's quite heavy and Josiah made my dream come true with the help of my mother to take it down to the beach and take pictures of Milla. As usual these were shot by the wonderful Janelle. The girl is good!

Note to self: Labor is going to hurt!

Yesterday Melinda had a 9'7, 23 inch baby boy named Luke. He's so cute. And from watching the labor I freaked myself out a little because I know I can't escape what's coming. I know what you're thinking, 'Well duh Liana.' We went to our first Bradley class yesterday too and when the woman asked us to get on all fours and do 'pelvic rocking' I almost quit. There's just somethings I don't think should be done in a group setting. Josiah finally felt this little mystery move around last week, though it still seems to shy away from people feeling it move. Then on the flip side it LOVES to kick me, just thinks it's the funnest thing there is to do. Yesterday and today the favorite move is a simultaneous jab at my rib and 'lower region'. Perhaps it's/he/she's claustraphobic and wants out because it certainly feels like it's trying to get out. We had an appointment this past Friday and nothing much happened. We declined an ultrasound at first since we don't want to know the sex and there really wasn't a reason for it. The doctor used a baby monitor to pick up the heartbeat but she couldn't find it even though you could hear swooshing from the acrobat within. This child likes to play games I tell you. So then she used the ultrasound just so she could find the heart and we left. So no great big change in anything besides Melinda having her baby.

Latest Doctors Appointment

We had an appointment on April 10 where we told the OB we didn't want to know what sex the baby is. She did an ultrasound and she said the baby is right on schedule size wise and that she is 60% sure what the baby is, though she didn't tell us what. Pretty much as of now our plan is not to find out and have a shower afterwards. Whenever we tell someone we're not finding out they get annoyed/mad/whatever and tell me/us that we're going to get nothing but yellow and green and that I won't be able to handle a shower after cause I'll be tired and won't want people around the baby, etc. I say one night out won't kill us. Besides, baby showers, let's all admit it, are super lame. The games and ooh's and ah's over little baby clothes, come on. Let's just have a real get together with both sexes and have some fun. As of now we have a crib (but need a mattress for it), a swing, diaper genie, and a rocking chair we still have to pick up. The only thing we absolutely need before the birth is a carseat, but everything else can wait until after and the kid will be fine. So we hope. Oh, and this kid is really starting to move around. Josiah still hasn't felt it, but I swear it's there.

What's in a name?

So names are a difficult thing to decide on, not to mention, forever. Who's got suggestions?

Monday, March 16, 2009

Here are the lastest pictures from March 13. It was weird because on screen this thing was kicking and punching like crazy, throwing what appeared to be a fit (must take after me) yet you can't feel anything. She said things looked good and didn't change the due date. I went in prepared for them to draw blood, but I was two days too soon for what I was suppose to have done, so she gave me the paperwork and told me to go to a lab sometime this week and have them draw the blood. Yay, I get to choose my own fate. And everyone knows right now I'm craving burritos from Costco. I've been driving Josiah nuts the past two days with my burrito cravings. Today I shall finally get them!

Ultrasound 1 &2

This is picture #1, so small the doctor had to put an arrow pointing at it. It was much easier to see at the office since there was a heartbeat. Most annoying part was that thing you can barely see made me absolutely ravenous. I would eat 3 dinners. No joshing.
This one was a month later and quite a bit bigger, wouldn't you say? At least now you can easily make out the head, feet and butt. Kind of an interesting position it's in. "If I can't see you, you can't see me!"
Tomorrow morning we go in for another visit. Not looking forward to it because it'll most likely involve a needle and I don't like needles. But seeing it get bigger and maybe hearing the heartbeat will be cool. Is it heartbeat or heart beat? This kid has sucked all my brain power.

Figuring this thing out.

A while ago I told a friend I was thinking of doing a baby blog since a lot of people are on the mainland and everytime I talk to her (Yeah, you Jesi!) she keeps nagging me about it. So I'm using this rainy day to try figure this thing out as the title states. So let's start off with everything you should know.

-Took the first 2 tests at home on January 6, 2009. (Side point, I was baptized January 5 and my niece was born Janunary 7, so it's a fun packed week.)
-First appointment was on January 16, had an ultrasound done and it looked like...well a blurry spot.
-Second appointment was February 13 (Daisha got to be there for this one, super awkward wasn't it? Never thought we'd be that...well I never thought I'd be that naked with you in the room.) This time it was much bigger and you could make out the head and butt and feet.
-Due date as of now is September 6, 2009. Doubt it'll change, but you never know.

Next appointment is this Friday, hopefully this time she can do a traditional ultrasound on the stomach. I'd upload the ultrasound pictures but I don't have a scanner. I'll look into it.
Anyway, that's about it, I'm not sure what people really want to hear about. Just one request, I would like this to stay private so I know the people who are reading it and it'll stay comfortable when making a post. That said, please do not send this site on to anyone, unless you ask first. Much obliged.
